Infant transport incubator

Sick newborns are at the highest risk for getting extremely cold during transport from their place of birth to the hospital or within the hospital increasing their likelihood of dying. This is unusual in high income countries since infant transport incubators are readily available and routinely used. This is not the case in Ethiopia. With the cost of one infant transport incubator between US $15,000 - $30,000, no public hospital in Ethiopia owns a functioning transport incubator. In collaboration with the Baltimore Kiwanis Incubator Foundation (BKIF.org) and our colleagues in Ethiopia, we have developed a locally manufactured transport incubator for under US $500. We are looking to buy 10 incubators
